I went shopping A LOT this month. Some of these clothes I haven't worn yet.... I love the jewelry at Maurices (this one), cheap, but good quality and super cute! I got some great deals this month by thrifting. The Everlane Silk top for only $6!Whattt??!!! I've been looking for another pair of booties- and then I found the Lucky ones for only $25! And then the Ann Taylor satin pumps- mine are in white and look new! I can't believe they're from the 80's! I'm also loving the black Skater skirt (even though questionably I'm "too old" for that look) and the grey cardigan even though it's a looser fit than I normally sport! How did you guys do this month on your budget? Do you ever try a trend even though you are questionably "too old" for that look??

Blouse via Goodwill (Similar) $6
Gap pullover (Similar) via Goodwill $13
J.Crew dress (Similar) via Goodwill $8
Everlane V-neck Shirts 3 for $45-Returning

  • I just started Stick Fix this month. You can try it here. I only kept the necklace this time. But I loved the jeans they sent, I just don't need yet another pair of jeans. Next time I'll do a blog post about my "fix."
  • Love this white blouse perfect for work!
  • The Everlane shirts were not my cup of tea. I'm looking for something with a little more stretch.
  • They don't call the Zella leggings "live in" leggings for nothing. Best leggings ever. Worth $50!

Baby it's STILL cold outside....

Little Blond Book       ~            Shell Chicd    ~         Pop of Style
Katie's Bliss              ~           J.Crew           ~                Me

This Navy vest is super cute and keeping me warm during chilly January days. I had no idea J.Crew makes an almost identical version! I borrowed J.Crew styling and paired it with a jean jacket.

Performance Fleece via Old Navy: $8
Gingham Quilted Vest via J.Crew Factory: Xmas gift
Herringbone Vest via J.Crew Factory: Xmas gift

Total: $129.00
  • I love both these Tights. The Free Press are holding up better than the Merona's. Thanks Fran for recommending fleece lined tights. They're amazing!
  • The abound Grunge Sweater is so warm and fuzzy. If you get cold at your office (like me) you need this!
  • My mom surprised me (hard to do) with the Gingham quilted vest from J.Crew Factory. I think this vest is even cuter in person. I LOVE IT! I'm typically a Large, but the Medium fits much better.
  • Surprisingly I don't like the Herringbone vest as much as I thought I would. I thought it would be thicker, and a different material.
Happy New Year!

Sweaters, coffee and chocolate Oh My!

              Me  //  EllaPrettyBlog  //  Pinterest

Sweater: Old Navy
Button down: H&M
Leggings: Target
Boots: Timberland
Scarf: Payless

Sweaters in the winter, a warm cup of coffee and some quality chocolate and there you have my own little piece of heaven! That being said I was pretty excited to try out this look from Ella Pretty Blog this week.  I had trouble with the button down shirt looking awkward under the sweater so I tried the tank-in-between trick from Franish but still looked a little frumpy. Do you ever struggle with too many layers?

Gap plaid: thrifted $8
H&M grey sweater (Similar): $20
H&M Necklace (Similar):$13
Chicos Jean Jacket (Similar): thrifted $20
Old Navy Oxford Pullover: $12 (On sale)
DSW-Black boots: $32 (On sale with $10 coupon)
Target Wedge: $35

Total= $165

I got a great deal on the boots form DSW and I love them! Target has a similar version here.

I returned these Target fur lined black booties because they were too open at the ankle and I wasn't sure how I would style them? Do I tuck the pants into the boots? I also returned these Target knee high black boots because they felt too narrow in the foot.
